Student Instructional Resource Entry Network

What is SIREN:
SIREN provides all Faculty members and Students with electronic resources for use within their courses. These resources are simple to set up and use, readily available, easily integrated with each other, and accommodating for multiple learning locations. The SIREN system provides for widespread access to information consistent with laws regarding copyright, and enhanced use of a variety of educational strategies.

Objective to the SIREN Tools:
The SIREN system presents students with an integrated suite of productivity tools and a wide range of network resources to promote expanded learning, critical thinking, personal development, and civic responsibility. These tools and resources are equally available to all students regardless of their academic preparation and career goals, accessible at all times and from a variety of locations on and off campus, and designed to both span and connect courses, semesters, and disciplines.

Institutional Environment:
Developing an effective computing environment for faculty and a consistent environment for students has taken into account the operational and fiscal realities of the college. SCC has deployed a network we can maintain, an environment we can expand, and tools we can support, all of which enhance the personal growth and educational experiences of students.
